W Hollywood holds a reputation for monumental doings. Ones like the April 2009 Dépêche Mode event was one of them.
For the first time in 20 years a free concert, put on by one of the most iconic bands was produced on the famous Hollywood Boulevard. The outcome? As many as 18,000 people, a broadcast of Jimmy Kimmel live, which was seen by over 2.5 million views and one of the most memorable events any hotel property in LA has ever put on.
Giant billboards displayed the W’s arrival as the band celebrated their 12th studio album, “Sounds of the Universe.” The band revisited the past as much as the present, performing their 1989 hit, “Personal Jesus.”
Lights, music, the hotel as a backdrop and cheering fans are mixed to create an authentic night at the famed intersection of Hollywood and Vine.
